Nabil Fekir arrived at Real Betis from Lyon last summer and has enjoyed a good debut season with the Spanish club.
The 26-year-old has seven goals and six assists in 22 league appearances and his performances for the La Liga club have seen him being associated with Newcastle United.
This is according to a ‘Top Secret’ report from Mundo Deportivo, who claims the Magpies ‘have been interested’ in the France international.
His contract with the Seville club lasts until 2023 and the report adds Betis are looking for around €50m for the player. However, the Tyneside club are not willing to meet their demands for Fekir.
In addition to this, a move to Newcastle means there would be no European football, at least for next season.
According to the report, the player is happy at Betis and is not contemplating the idea of leaving them this summer, unless he receives a call from either Barcelona or Real Madrid.
Mundo, however, explains the Frenchman is not on Barca’s summer transfer list, even though they have liked him from his time at Lyon.
