Featuring just three times in the league since returning from his knee injury, Danny Rose’s season isn’t exactly going to plan, especially in a World Cup year.
Overtaken by Ben Davies in the pecking order, the 27-year-old made it clear over the summer his future might not be at Tottenham and that he might have to look elsewhere to get trophies before the end of his career.
Well, Le Foot in France claim there’s a club who eats trophies for breakfast, one whose named has already been linked with Rose in the past, keen on his services: Paris Saint-Germain.
There’s no denying that, looking at their squad, left-back is one of the weakest positions for the Ligue 1 leaders, with Layvin Kurzawa’s performances often criticised and Yuri Berchiche yet to show why he was bought by Unai Emery other than just to make up the numbers.
For Danny Rose, this could be the perfect move, with a trophy pretty much guaranteed come the end of the season and a big contract to boot, with wages he probably wouldn’t get at Tottenham.
Le Foot state he’d be available at a ‘very affordable’ price, something we’re not entirely sure about, what with just under four years left on his current Tottenham deal, but if he wants to leave and Paris Saint-Germain can get money for either Berchiche or Kurzawa, then why not?
He’s said to be on Antero Henrique’s list, and if last summer is anything to go by, if the director of football wants someone, he tends to get them.
Crazier things have happened in football before.
