As Sky Italia is bringing live updates on the situation of Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali, we now get to see some news on his inclusion in the squad for the Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund tonight.

According to the outlet, the suspension will not affect this game, as Eddie Howe is set to have the player on the bench for the European clash.

The lawyers of the Newcastle player entered a plea bargain which is expected to soon be made official by the prosecutor’s office.

Reports earlier today indicated that could come later this week as they iron out the final details but Sky Italia state that if the sentence is revealed today, it will only be valid from tomorrow only, meaning he’s fine to enter the pitch tonight.

Tonali could get suspended for ten months, plus a further six or eight in alternative penalties.

Sky highlights that even though he’s expected to miss the rest of the season, and the Euros next summer, he should still be fine to feature next season, and his career is in no danger.

Given the whole scenario, that’s not bad news for Newcastle, who have him under contract until 2028.
