Brought back to Juventus on a two-year loan, there was hope that Everton’s Moise Kean would recapture his old form when he returned to Turin.
That, however, has been anything but the case, with Massimiliano Allegri struggling to get the best out of the forward, who is now looking like a terrible investment from the Serie A side.
Paying Everton €7m for the two-year deal, as well as having a near-automatic option to buy at €28m, it looks like €35m thrown down the drain, as the player was labelled ‘The Worst’ by both Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport on Monday.
This comes following a string of mediocre performances from the player, and the former of the two newspapers gave him a rating of 4.5/10 in Juventus’ 2-2 draw against Salernitana, claiming that ‘every time Allegri gives him a chance, he wastes it’.
Branded ‘lazy’, he is also ‘at times irritating’, and his substitution was sarcastically clapped by the Juventus fans.
Corriere dello Sport follow the same path, giving him a 4/10, pointing out the Everton man ‘throws another opportunity to the wind’.
As we said above, the option to buy isn’t a pure obligation, as it is linked to certain ‘sporting objectives’, which could be related to Juventus qualifying for the Champions League.
Currently eighth, three points off fourth, it won’t be time for panic in Turin just yet, but it certainly isn’t the start of the season they would have wanted.
Down Everton’s end, they’ll want some kind of turnaround to ensure those ‘sporting objectives’ are met, however, in order to get the €28m.
