Now, Tottenham fans have heard it all before, as have we, and whilst there’s some doubt over Mousa Dembele’s future, it hasn’t really been a huge story yet.
Normally such claims would be swatted aside, but Soccer News have been speaking to the player’s agent so their take on the midfielder’s future is surely one to listen to.
Tom De Mul has told the Dutch news source: “Mousa has another one year contract with Tottenham, he has played a fantastic season and there is a lot going on around him, there is a lot of interest inside and outside of Europe, we are waiting for the World Cup and I hope he plays in Russia, because he deserves that after such a good season. Avoid a difficult last year like Alderweireld? For the time being, Mousa does not sign.”
In itself that’s not a huge leap forward, given it’s long been reported the player wants to see how he feels this summer before deciding on his future.
There have been comments about his long term fitness and whether Dembele has got another Premier League contact in him, despite being ‘just’ 30 years of age.
Whilst the headline from SoccerNews may sound like speculation, it’s speculation based on actually speaking to the Tottenham player’s agent… so it’s better than most.
