Everton, Fulham and Newcastle United are all ‘in the ranks’ to sign Clement Grenier, according to Monday’s edition of L’Equipe.
The midfielder moved to Guingamp from Lyon and had a good second half the season. In 15 Ligue 1 appearances, the 27 year old managed five goals and four assists and that has caught the eye of interested clubs.
L’Equipe take quotes from Guingamp manager Antoine Kombouaré who believes a move is happening soon. The midfielder is “about to leave” and his club don’t want to take chances by playing him in friendly matches, just in case he gets injured and ruins a potential transfer and good fee for the Brittany side.
Everton, Fulham and Newcastle are all being linked with many players around Europe in the current market.
Marco Silva and Marcel Brands are trying to build for a better season at Goodison Park, and Rafael Benitez is trying to magic up any transfer funds he can get his hands on.
Fulham have already done some impressive business in France and Slaviša Jokanović may feel that’s a market where the value lies.
There’s no mention from L’Equipe of what a potential transfer fee would be.
