For months, the Italian media have regularly suggested one of Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso will leave Chelsea this summer, and Inter Milan have been linked with both left-backs.
The Blues completed the signing of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City on August 26th. A day later, Esporte Interativo reported Emerson’s future at the club is ‘uncertain’ after Chilwell’s arrival at Stamford Bridge.
It was also explained Inter Milan and Juventus are interested in the 26-year-old.
FcInter1908 now brings the latest update on the Nerazzurri’s interest in the Brazil-born Italy international, and they once again state Chilwell’s signing ‘definitively closes the doors’ of the west London club for Emerson.
The website has managed to get a comment from Fernando Garcia, the player’s agent, regarding his client’s future at Chelsea.
“[Any] Chance he will leave Chelsea? Yes, this possibility exists. I haven’t talked to the London club yet. I can only say that Inter are interested in the player. We’ll see…” Garcia said.
With the agent confirming Inter’s interest in the left-back, a move to the San Siro would see the defender reunite with his former manager, Antonio Conte.
Emerson has made six appearances in all competitions for Chelsea in 2020, three of which came in January and the remaining after the restart.
