Arthur Melo has had a good first season with Barcelona, picking up 40 appearances for the club already.
The 22 year old has clearly been a good signing, even if his form has dropped off just a little lately. That led to him being out of Ernesto Valverde’s side to face Liverpool on Wednesday evening, but Arthur watched from the sidelines as his Barcelona teammates won the match 3-0.
Mundo Deportivo report that he wasn’t able to enjoy the victory for long, because there’s been a serious and violent break-in at his home in the Catalan city.
La Sexta say the robbery, which happened late on Wednesday evening, saw two men enter the footballer’s house. They were carrying a knife and a screwdriver, and gained entry via a window.
From there, they encountered Arthur’s brother, who was threatened with the screwdriver, which was put to his neck.
The criminals managed to steal a Rolex and other valuables before leaving through the same window they entered.
La Sexta point out that Gerard Pique, Malcom, Jordi Alba and Kevin-Prince Boateng have all been the subject of robberies in recent months.
