Giuseppe Sannino had a varied playing career, representing nine different clubs before he retired from playing the game. The Italian then moved into management and quickly set about trouncing that number.
So far, the 54-year-old has had 20 different managerial positions, his latest one being a three month stint with Greek club Levadiakos, who he’d also managed a couple of years ago. Having left that position for personal reasons, and returned to Italy, he’s now speaking to the media as something of a pundit.
TMW had a chant with Sannino about the current managerial changes going on in Serie A and around European football, with that market overshadowing the player transfer one right now. Tottenham are on the lookout for a new boss, and Sannino believes that Spurs are the only option left for Antonio Conte.
The former Chelsea boss left Inter Milan this summer, having won the Serie A title with them, and he’s now out of work and available. With other jobs in the Italian top flight having slipped away, Sannino explained that as he sees things, it’s only Tottenham remaining.
Quoted by TMW, he said: “I can understand Allegri’s return to Juventus, because it was not clear why he left. If he went back, it means that someone has understood that something was wrong. Mourinho also returns, but it seems to me an image operation. For Conte it seems to me that there is only Tottenham left now, let’s see what Inzaghi will do in his place at Inter, he will use the same scheme as him.”
With the Real Madrid job now also off the table, Conte and Tottenham is a link that will continue to be made
