Christian Eriksen is expected to leave Manchester United when his contract expires at the end of this season.

The Denmark international’s game time had been limited even before Ruben Amorim took charge at Old Trafford in November. He’s been restricted to 11 minutes from two games in the Premier League in this calendar year.

It’s unclear where the Manchester United player’s future lies beyond this season, although he has been linked with a move back to his country.

TV2 Sport expert Mads Junker suggests Odense Boldklub, commonly known as OB, as one of the options for the 33-year-old.

Eriksen spent three years at OB’s academy between 2005 and 2008 before joining Ajax. He hasn’t yet played at the highest level in Denmark and is linked with a move back to his country in the summer.

TV2 Sport contacted OB sports director Troels Bech and asked whether they can sign Eriksen in the next window.

“If you hope to stand and be able to break something about Christian Eriksen and OB right now, it is both out of my hands and maybe also a little bit ambitious…” he said.

“He’s of course a dear friend of the club, and we have just organised the Christian Eriksen Cup with his great approval, so he is a player who means more than just a shirt number and 90 minutes for OB.”

TV2 then asked if there’s an ongoing dialogue with Eriksen over a possible return to OB.

Responding to that, Bech explained: “There’s dialogue. Most recently, he has also helped us with video and other things for the Christian Eriksen Cup. But it’s not my privilege to stand and talk about contract talks. That’s not the dialogue we have with Christian Eriksen right now.”
