Manchester United are interested in Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, but he would prefer to stay at Stamford Bridge.
That’s according to SportBILD journalist Christian Falk, who says Tuchel wants to see what the situation will be under the Blues new owners before making a decision on his future.
Chelsea, of course, are currently in the middle of a takeover bid after Roman Abramovich put the club up for sale amid sanctions by the UK government.
Those two things combined have put the future of the club in doubt, particularly on the playing side of things, where it remains to be seen how things will change once Abramovich has departed.
One big question to be answered is on Tuchel, who has re-established himself as one of the top coaches in Europe during his time with the club.
He may not want to remain if things change under the new ownership, and if that is the case, Manchester United have been urged to snap him up, as an alternative to Erik ten Hag or Mauricio Pochettino.
Falk now says there is interest from Old Trafford, but Tuchel isn’t all that keen at this moment in time.
“Manchester United are interested in Thomas Tuchel,” he wrote on Twitter.
“There has been contact, but Tuchel would like to stay at Chelsea if he can work like before under the new owner.”
