Last November, Olé reported Chelsea had sent a scout exclusively to watch Club Brugge’s Joel Ordóñez in action against Aston Villa in the Champions League.

A month later, Het Laatste Nieuws said the Blues are in the mix to the sign the 20-year-old. He also publicly expressed his desire to make a switch to the Premier League.

DSports Ecuador now claim Chelsea could fulfil the defender’s wish in the summer.

They took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to relay an update from journalist María José Flores.

“There is interest from Chelsea in Joel Ordóñez,” she said when discussing the possibility of the Ecuador international changing clubs at the end of this season.

Bolvaip have shared more updates on María José Flores’ claim on Chelsea’s interest in the South American.

According to the journalist, Enzo Maresca’s side could be the centre-back’s next club in the summer.

Bolavip’s title mentions of an offer from Chelsea while their summary states the Blues are ‘serious’ about Ordóñez.

Within the report, it’s claimed Chelsea ‘presented an offer of €30m’ to Club Brugge. They may have likely tabled a bid in the winter market.

It’s to be noted there isn’t anything concrete of Chelsea’s January offer for Ordóñez in the UK, South America or Belgium.

It feels like Bolvaip are jumping the gun after María José Flores reported about Chelsea’s interest.
