With Udinese standing at 16th after four fixtures in the Serie A, it’s obvious that they’re not having the start they expected.

As outlet Messaggero Veneto today features a story about the Italian club, they point out several reasons why they’re still to find a single win in the league.

It turns out that one of the first mentions is to Destiny Udogie, who left Udinese for Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

It’s claimed that the fullback’s ‘outbursts’ on the left flank are ‘terribly missed’.

Messaggero Veneto points out that while Udogie is ‘running for Tottenham’, Udinese are struggling to find an ‘ideal’ replacement for him.

Spurs bought the fullback from the Serie A in the summer of 2022 on a €17m deal, and let him stay loaned to the Italian club for one season.

His farewell year at Udinese is what left such a good impression, maybe with the feeling that they knew he was going to be missed once his transfer to Tottenham was concluded.

Since arriving at Spurs, he was a starter in all of their games in the Premier League, and has already become something of a fan favourite.
