Following the important departures that Chelsea already had and could still have this summer, it seems we could add another player to the list.
According to reports from Germany, Timo Werner could be on his way out of the Stamford Bridge in this transfer window, as Thomas Tuchel is ‘not the biggest fan’ of him.
Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg writes that the manager’s recent quotes ‘clearly show’ he’s not keen on keeping the player, and that ‘arrived’ to the striker himself, so he’s aware of it.
It’s said Werner now ‘deals with a possible departure’ this window, and even though a final decision ‘will take time’, he’s getting closer to the exit door. “Tendency: he will leave,” says the reporter.
Despite injuries and a Covid infection last season, Werner still had a decent amount of minutes played, getting 37 appearances, and being a starter in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.
However, Werner recently made it public he wants to ‘play more’, and Tuchel responded by claiming the striker should be happy to have a contract at Chelsea. Now it seems the manager could be ready to show him the way out.
