Despite recent claims that Erik ten Hag has asked Manchester United to try and sign Aurélien Tchouaméni from Real Madrid, the option of Sofyan Amrabat arriving remains.
Corriere dello Sport are the ones reporting it on Thursday, following a report that the player’s agent was set to meet the Red Devils for talks.
The Italian newspaper have an article looking at the midfielder’s situation, and they are fairly convinced that a transfer to Manchester United will happen.
The reason for this is Erik ten Hag, as the manager ‘continues to push’ for his club to spend the money on a player they describe as ‘his protégé’, whom he nurtured and launched at Utrecht.
Manchester United, though, ‘are not far away’ from it, with bonuses included, but it’s made clear the Serie A side will not accept too many of them either, as that would reduce the initial fee they receive.
Still, Corriere expect the ‘final breakthrough’ in this matter to happen ‘by the end of the week’, although that is something that was also often stated last week, and nothing happened.
Patience is key here, but the belief is it will get done.
