Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat joined Manchester United on loan towards the end of the last summer window and the move hasn’t worked out in his favour.
The Morocco international has clocked in 123 minutes from six appearances this year and that includes the full 90 minutes in the Red Devils’ FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest.
Manchester United have an option to make the 27-year-old’s stay permanent but have no plans to activate it. This has been reported in the Italian media and is now echoed by Tuttosport.
It’s claimed the midfielder has made the decision to leave Old Trafford after this season and dreams of returning to Serie A. Amrabat’s deal with Fiorentina lasts until 2025 and their intention is to cash in from his sale in the next window.
According to Tuttosport, Amrabat has changed agents and his new representatives are SEG, who also represent the Manchester United manager.
SEG are said to have proposed him to Juventus and AC Milan in the last few hours, and both are thinking about him.
Juventus technical director Cristiano Giuntoli has long been an admirer of the Manchester United player, and even tried signing him for his former club, Napoli.
The Turin club and Fiorenitna share a good relationship, and Juve’s Arthur Melo has been on loan with the latter since last summer. It’s possible for the two clubs to discuss a swap deal, to help each other get rid of their unwanted players.
Either way, Amrabat’s future is clearly away from Manchester United.
