Borussia Mönchengladbach are keen on signing Arsenal youngster Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, according to Fussball Transfers journalist Dominik Schneider.
The 21-year-old came up through the ranks of the Gunners’ youth system and is currently part of their U21 side.
Butler-Oyedeji, who was on loan to Accrington Stanley and Cheltenham Town, is yet to represent Arsenal’s senior team.
The Bundesliga side want to immediately offer the striker a role in their first team. They are making efforts to try and secure his services. Schneider claims ‘talks between the club [Gladbach] and the player taking place since last week’ for a deal in the coming months.
Schneider says Butler-Oyedeji’s deal expires next February, which seems odd. He signed his first professional contract in August 2021 and that’s likely to run until the end of this season.
Online, Fussball Transfers further add the German club haven’t yet made an offer to the youngster despite holding talks.
Mikel Arteta isn’t able to promise him a place in the first team, but that isn’t the case with the German club. They want to offer Butler-Oyedeji a place in their senior team and therefore, he’s interested to join them.
Fussball Transfers state that at this moment in time, the young attacker hasn’t made a decision on his future. If he were to sign an extension at Arsenal, Gladbach could try and take him on a loan deal.
