Ajax are negotiating with Wolverhampton Wanderers about a return of loanee Carlos Forbs this month.
That’s according to ESPN, who confirm reports elsewhere from in the Netherlands that Forbs could be on his way back to Ajax before the end of the transfer window.
They report that Ajax manager Francesco Farioli wanted to add a left winger this month and that could see Forbs return from Wolves.
He joined Wolves on loan in the summer transfer window but Ajax’s failure to get talks progressing with Real Valladolid over Raúl Moro, plus him suffering an injury, has led to talks being opened with Wolves.
He’s barely featured for Vitor Pereira’s side this season but there is no clause in the current loan deal to end it prematurely.
That means Ajax have to reach an agreement with Wolves for them to do so and bring the winger back to the Netherlands early. The presumption is that will not be difficult given Forbs has not been in Wolves’ plans so far.
Those talks are now taking place either way, with Ajax keen to find a winger they can use immediately and Forbs seemingly the obvious answer.
