Turkish newspaper Sabah report Fenerbahce are still hoping they can loan Vincent Janssen from Tottenham Hotspur.
The Istanbul club have already signed Islam Slimani from Leicester City this summer but despite the Algeria international’s arrival, Sabah say Fenerbahce will target a new striker, especially if they qualify for the Champions League.
Sabah report Fenerbahce are in talks with Janssen and are trying to lower Tottenham’s asking price. Last summer, Fenerbahce paid €5m to Tottenham to loan the forward but the Turkish giants are unlikely to pay that amount this time.
It’s claimed Janssen is still hoping to join Fenerbahce once again to work under his compatriot Phillip Cocu but any move could depend on which European competition Fenerbahce will be playing in this season.
Janseen looks surplus to requirements at Tottenham and may need to move on before the transfer windows close in Europe.
The Dutchman wasn’t involved in Tottenham’s victory over Newcastle United last weekend and doesn’t seen in Mauricio Pochettino’s long terms plans.
