Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva could be leaving Liverpool this summer, with just one year left on his existing deal.
The 29-year-old was close to signing for Besiktas last summer, and it seems the Turkish club are once against interested in signing him.
According to Turkish website Fanatik, Besiktas have already contacted the player and received a positive response.
Fanatik say the Brazilian is keen on leaving, and that he is not expected to cost much. There should be goodwill on behalf of Liverpool given the service Lucas has provided.
The fact that Liverpool haven’t offered him a new contract yet suggests they’re also keen on offloading him.
The player is on high wages, and Liverpool have been linked to a few midfielders, which possibly means he isn’t in the future plans of Jurgen Klopp.
Lucas Leiva has been a reliable and committed Liverpool player for several managers. Joining in 2007, he could be set to leave after nearly a decade with the Merseyside club.
