On February 25th, we carried a report from Sport, who explained Liverpool are the ‘main bidder’ for Marco Asensio. His current deal expires in 2023 and plans to extend is stay at Real Madrid, provided the conditions set by him are met.
Sport have come up with a report detailing his current salary, what Los Blancos are ready to offer and what he is looking for to sign a new deal at the Bernabéu.
The forward earns a gross annual salary of €9m and Carlo Ancelotti’s side have offered a new deal that does not include a rise. This also includes bonuses that can reach €1.5m per year.
It’s claimed the proposal made by the La Liga side doesn’t meet the Spain international’s economic requirements. The player is of the belief that he ‘deserves an upgrade’ for the contribution he has made to the club.
Real Madrid are ‘not going to accede to his wishes’ and would have ‘no problem’ to sell him in the next market to ‘make cash’, ‘taking into account of the interest’ from the Reds.
Asensio has not responded to the renewal offer and this has made Real Madrid impatient. The report explains they have set a deadline for him to give a definitive response.
Liverpool are in the picture for Asensio and the Spanish giants will make him available in the market, if the former Mallorca man were not to sign a new deal before June 30th.
