Ezgjan Alioski to Leeds United has been a frustrating transfer rumour, with lots of speculation but not a great deal of it sounding concrete, until this week. Currently playing for Swiss club Lugano, Alioski’s future was thrown into doubt this week when it was made clear by his manager that an exit is possible.
Alioski was kept out of this week’s prestige friendly against AC Milan, which Lugano lost 4-0, and the reasoning was, apart from a lack of training, that a move to England is possible.
Further encouraging speculation, Alioski is no longer named as a player on Lugano’s website, which is a big step given he’s arguably their star.
But despite the comments from Lugano, despite social media hints from people close to the player, and despite him no longer being listed as a player with the Swiss club… he’s still not been announced by Leeds United.
That could, and perhaps should, change today.
Ticino News say Alioski has flown out from Zurich and will undergo a medical today.
RSI say ‘it’s done’ and Alioski is scheduled to have a Leeds medical and sign his contract on Thursday.
