Joining AIK in February of this year on a 10-month contract, Alexander Milosevic’s time with the Swedish club is coming to an end on December 31st, and his next step could be Sheffield Wednesday.
This is what Fotboll Direkt in Sweden are reporting on Friday afternoon, as they claim the Owls have submitted a contract offer for the 26-year-old to consider over the coming weeks.
With no talks scheduled between AIK and the centre-back, it appears Milosevic will be free to go come the end of the month, allowing Sheffield Wednesday to swoop in for a free transfer and snap him up for the second half of the season.
However, there is competition, as Foboll Direkt claim two Russian sides are also keen after the defender rejected offers from APOEL in Cyprus and a ‘lucrative’ contract from an Israeli side.
This leaves the Sheffield Wednesday target with a choice to make: either move to the Championship or swap Sweden for Russia’s Premier League.
If the Russian sides are playing in a European competition, then the Owls will need to prove very convincing.
