With the international period slowly coming to an end, we’re edging closer to silly season properly kicking off, and that includes, hopefully, the resolution of the Henry Onyekuru saga.

Arsenal were reported a week or so ago to have arranged a medical for the 20-year-old forward after the two clubs agreed a £6.8m fee, but other clubs are still in the race, including West Ham and now Swansea.

According to Own Goal Nigeria, the Nigeria international is expected to arrive in England on the 12th of June to hold talks with various clubs, including the Swans and the Hammers.

Wanting a move to Arsenal, his dream club, there is still a chance guaranteed game time at another club could persuade him.

The Nigerian website believe that Mark McKay, the leading agent in Onyekuru’s agency, has a better relationship with Swansea than he has with West Ham, ‘having burnt a few bridges’ with the whole Dimitri Payet situation back in January.

They suggest this means Paul Clement has the upper hand over Slaven Bilic, but this seems to still be pure speculation based on past events.

Onyekuru will leave KAS Eupen this summer, that’s a guarantee, but his next club still remains an absolute mystery.

It could be anyone.
