Swansea are reportedly keen on signing the Ecuador international Miller Bolaños.
According to UOL, the Welsh side have competition from two more Premier League clubs for the transfer of the 26-year-old.
UOL says that Bolaños’ agent has met Grêmio’s president last week and showed him the interest of these three clubs. Although no official offers were made, these approaches mean a serious interest from all of them.
Swansea are the only club who have had their name and their intentions revealed. They would be ready to pay £7m for the midfielder, an amount which is good enough to let Grêmio think about it.
Bolaños is a new signing for Grêmio. He arrived at the club in February, when they agreed a loan deal with an investor which could see them pay £5m for 70% of the player’s economic rights.
The midfielder played only two matches before receiving a face injury in a derby game against Internacional. When he returned, he made six more appearances and was called up for the Copa America. Then he returned to the club with a muscular injury after the tournament, and is still out of action.
The £7m offer would be enough for Grêmio to pay the fee and make a small profit. The only question is how much other clubs are interested.
Since no official bids were made, the Brazilian club still won’t comment on the matter. They will wait and see if it’s worth selling him for that amount or wait for a better offer.
