Even though some reports have been claiming Diogo Jota’s permanent transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers is done, the player is still not so sure he’ll be at the club in the next season.

Jota has travelled to meet the Portuguese U-21 squad on Monday, and when at Lisbon airport, he obviously had some journalists waiting to talk to him.

Mais Futebol brought some of the quotes from the attacker, who claimed he’s unsure of what will happen to him in the summer.

“For the next season I still have nothing defined, I still have nothing signed,” Jota told the journalists.

“I want to stay. Everything that has happened this season leads me to believe that the next season can be good for me in the Premier League but, as I said, nothing is signed yet and I can’t give anything for granted.”

Asked if manager Nuno Espírito Santo counts on him for the next season, Jota said: “I think so, but you’ll have to ask him that.”

The 21-year-old has joined Wolves Atletico Madrid on a one-year loan deal last summer, with reports claiming he’s expected to sign permanently for €14m (other figures are available). He’s finished the season for the English club with 18 goals and six assists in 46 appearances.

His quotes are certainly intriguing, perhaps he’s being diplomatic, or perhaps Wolves need to sooth any concerns he may have.
