Manchester City finished the summer transfer window without bringing in a replacement for Sergio Agüero, who left the Etihad as a free agent at the end of last season.

The Etihad side were keen on Harry Kane, but a deal never materialsed due to the tough stance maintained by Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy.

It won’t be a surprise if Pep Guardiola and co. look to bolster their strike force next summer and there’s a reasonable chance Erling Haaland will be on their agenda.

On October 20th, SportBild reported the English champions are ‘getting hotter’ for the Borussia Dortmund star, while Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain were also credited with an interest in the striker.

AS has a report stating Barcelona brings the Norway international closer to Real Madrid, as Mino Raiola, who acts as an advisor to Haaland, shares a good relationship with the La Liga side’s president, Joan Laporta.

It’s claimed Ronald Koeman’s sacking has ended up being a ‘great crisis’ for the Camp Nou side and it ‘does not escape the eyes’ of the super-agent.

This and Barca’s poor economic conditions make it difficult for them to sign the BVB frontman.

With Barcelona now down the pecking order, a tough battle between Real Madrid and PSG is looming.

AS, however, state the superstar prefers Los Blancos and has informed the same to Raiola.

The problem, for Real Madrid, is that the agent has ‘great influence’ on his players and this could favour PSG, and the Ligue 1 side will go ‘all out’ for the striker, if Kylian Mbappé were to leave the Paris club.

City get a mention and AS say Haaland only sees the English club as the ‘third option’ for a transfer next summer.

This makes it more difficult for Txiki Begiristain and the Premier League winners to bring the Dortmund man to Manchester.
