There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Konyaspor is the latest club to show interest in Peterborough United attacker Kwame Poku.
The 23-year-old is expected to leave the League One side at the end of the month when his contract expires, and he’s been linked with a move to Birmingham City in recent weeks.
Hakimiyet today report on Konyaspor’s links with the Peterborough United winger as the Turkish club look to bring in players this summer. They finished mid-table in the Super Lig last season and are looking to improve on that in the next campaign.
Konyaspor would have expected to face competition to sign Poku after reports of interest from Birmingham City, but it’s now thought they’re cooling interest.
Subsequently, Hakimiyet believe Konyaspor can take advantage of the Championship side dropping out of the race to sign the Ghanian, but the Turkish club will still face competition to sign him.
Rangers are said to be monitoring the situation around Poku, with recent reports the Scottish side see him as a possible replacement for Vaclav Cerny. The Czech Republic international is returning to his parent club Wolfsburg following his impressive loan spell at Ibrox.
Poku made 31 appearances for Peterborough United last season, scoring 12 goals.
