Regional newspaper Olay claim Bursaspor are interested in signing Stoke City’s Mame Biram Diouf before tomorrow’s transfer deadline, but the player’s demands are proving to be an issue.
The Turkish club are currently working hard get a lift on their transfer ban and, Olay say Diouf is a target for them.
However, it’s also reported the Stoke City forward wants a salary of €1.5m from Bursaspor until the end of next season, which Olay say the Super Lig club can’t afford, as confirmed by their president Ali Ay.
Olay explain that if Diouf doesn’t drop his wage demands, then Bursaspor will no longer pursue the attacker. It’s claimed the Senegalese striker has also held talks with Galatasaray over a move to Istanbul.
The 31 year old has only featured seven times for Stoke City this season in the Championship, scoring one goal.
The player is under contract with the Potters until June 2020.
