Aksam claim Fenerbahce manager Ersun Yanal is behind the Turkish club’s pursuit of Swansea City midfielder Leroy Fer.
This week there have been reports emerging from Italy that Fenerbahce have held talks with Swansea City to sign the player, and Aksam now report Yanal is keen to work with the Dutchman.
According to Aksam, Yanal is impressed with Fer’s versatility and believes he could be an important player for the Turkish giants if he joins before Thursday’s deadline.
It’s also reported Fer is looking to leave Swansea City in order to join the Istanbul club and talks between the two sides are progressing quickly, with an agreement said to be close.
Fenerbahce are looking to get some foreign players off their books before tomorrow and Aksam say if they manage to offload one of them then Fer is likely to join the Super Lig club.
The 29 year old has played 23 games for Swansea City in the Championship this season, scoring one goal.
