Each week German magazine SportBild have a winner and loser of the week, and more often than would be fair, the loser is from the Premier League.
Last week’s loser for SportBild was Juan Mata, because he’d been substituted on and off by Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho at Wembley.
Mata bounced back from that pretty well, scoring a goal for Manchester United in their victory against Bournemouth. Perhaps it’s a blessing.
Adnan Januzaj will certainly be hoping so because he’s been picked out as this week’s loser.
The reasoning for SportBild singling out the Belgium is because Jose Mourinho has decided the player has no future at Manchester United, and he’s been shipped out to Sunderland.
It seems a little harsh, sure, if Januzaj had complained about the move, or been there a few months and failed, give him the tag then. But a 21 year old going to a Premier League club on loan is hardly a disaster.
Lionel Messi was winner of the week, for reversing his international retirement. A retirement which saw him miss a grand total of zero games. Go figure.
