Sunderland are interested in Galatasaray’s out of favour right back Luis Pedro Cavanda claim Fanatik.
Galatasaray currently have three right backs at their disposal and manager Jan Olde Riekerink is favouring Martin Linnes and Sabri Sarıoğlu ahead of Cavanda. The Belgian international is understood to be unhappy about the situation, and could look to force a move in the new year.
Cavanda joined Galatasaray only last summer after he failed to impress at Trabzonspor. The Belgian is now out of the frame at Galatasaray too, but David Moyes and Sunderland could offer him an escape route in January.
The Sunderland boss will be looking to strengthen his squad in the next window, and Cavnada’s fee should be within their restricted transfer budget.
Galatasaray board are pleased about this apparent interest from Sunderland and they’re hoping they can offload Cavanda to the Premier League side. Cavanda’s mistakes cost Galatasaray valuable points at the start of the season, and since then the 28-year old has been demoted to the Galatasaray bench.
The former Lazio defender has only played 300 minutes of Turkish Super League football this season and is under contract with Galatasaray until 2019.
