Back in August, Yahoo! Sport in France claimed that Celtic were interested in Toulouse’s Yann Bodiger.
At the time, we questioned it as with the arrivals of Oliver Ntcham and Kundai Benyu, another young midfielder didn’t appear to be an area of need for Brendan Rodgers, and the fact the 22-year-old had been a regular member of Pascal Dupraz’s side for the 2016-17 campaign meant he would be hard to dislodge.
However, as every footballer says in every interview ever, anything can happen in football, and if Celtic are still thinking about signing Bodiger, January might be the perfect time to do so.
The signing of both Yannick Cahuzac and Giannelli Imbula (on loan from Stoke) has meant the French midfielder has featured a lot less, starting just five league games so far, and a move away is already being touted for him.
Mercato365 believe Olympiakos in Greece have an eye on him, and while no fee is mentioned, the fact other clubs are starting to take notice suggests something could be done in the coming weeks.
Judging by how the season is going (Champions League aside), we doubt Celtic will make a move, but you never know.
