Born in the south of France and spending the past eight years of his career at Toulouse, Yann Bodiger could be a player difficult to dislodge from his surroundings.

However, that doesn’t mean that clubs aren’t going to give it a go, especially considering the 22-year-old has emerged as an exciting talent over the past couple of seasons in Ligue 1.

The defensive midfielder, making his debut for his club in 2014, already has over 60 top tier appearances under his belt, which is why Celtic are taking an interest in him.

This is what Yahoo! France are reporting on their Twitter account as an exclusive late on Friday afternoon, explaining the Scottish Premiership champions are interested in bringing Bodiger to Celtic Park for the 2017/18 season.

Having already brought in the likes of Olivier Ntcham and Kundai Benyu this summer, and with Eboue Kouassi and Liam Henderson already at the club, young midfielders isn’t exactly something Brendan Rodgers is lacking at Celtic Park.

It never hurts to have too many options at your disposal, but we can’t see Toulouse wanting to get rid of Bodiger anytime soon, especially with the Ligue 1 season kicking off this weekend.

Then again, the prospect of Champions League football…
