Earlier this month, Sport came out with a report stating that Manchester United would be interested in signing Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann, ‘if the conditions are good’.
After a break following his participation with France at the Euros, the 30-year-old returned to training where he has held talks with the La Liga side regarding his future.
That’s according to Sport on Tuesday and they add the player’s future ‘remains undefined’.
It’s claimed the former Real Sociedad star has already communicated to Ronald Koeman’s side that he will only leave the club to return to Atlético Madrid, where a potential swap deal involving him and Saúl Ñíguez was discussed.
If Griezmann was to continue at the club, he’s willing to sit down for a talk with the Barca leaders over a possible salary reduction.
The Red Devils are mentioned and it’s said the stance maintained by the France international ‘implies’ that Griezmann is ‘not willing to try a new adventure’ in the Premier League, where a ‘potential offer came’ from United.
From Barca’s point of view, Sport add that Griezmann’s willingness to lower his wages ‘would be the best solution’.
