After spending the previous two campaigns on loan at SD Huesca, Sergio Gómez sealed a permanent move to Anderlecht last summer.
Operating mainly as the left-back, he has impressed under Vincent Komapny’s orders this season, managing six goals and registering 14 assists in all competitions. His form has caught the attention of Manchester United and a few other clubs.
Last weekend, Gazzetta dello Sport reported the Red Devils sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old in action for the Jupiler Pro League side.
Anderlecht-Online, a website dedicating their coverage to the Belgian club, now states the ‘interest in Gómez is growing’ as he continues to ‘perform well’ for the Spain U21. He has six goals and five assists in the last seven matches for them.
Only Inter Milan, who are scouting him, and the Premier League side are mentioned in the report. Regarding the Old Trafford club, it’s said they should ‘even prepare an offer’.
Meanwhile, Gómez gave an interview to Cadena Ser’s El Larguero, where he was quizzed about the recent reports about Inter and Manchester United.
“I’m focused on the last few months that I have left. I’m focusing on the national team, on the club and taking advantage of all the opportunities. I don’t know anything, really,” he said.
