Finding a bit more room these days under Thomas Tuchel, Hakim Ziyech appears to be finally settling in at Chelsea.
The Morocco international took some time to adjust to his new environment, and has only recently managed to secure a series of starts, including two in the bigger games of the season against Manchester City.
Scoring in both of those fixtures and inflicting two losses on Pep Guardiola’s side, the winger is now justifying his £36m transfer fee.
For Michel Vorm, this was never going to be an issue, as the goalkeeper explained in a chat with Voetbalzone.
He said: “He is so strong mentally. Hakim has shown during his time at Ajax that he’s imperturbable. The supporters literally took his life at first. Later he was adored. That really says a lot. That boy really had a crap time at Ajax. He could have thrown in the towel. It’s very clever that he was not led by that”.
It appears the same situation could be taking place at Chelsea these days, and with yet another fixture against Manchester City coming up, this time in the Champions League final, there is yet another chance for Ziyech to prove himself.
Who knows, perhaps he’ll even score the winning goal in that game as well?
