Real Betis striker Loren Morón has said he knows about Barcelona interest in him, saying it is a ‘joy’ to be linked to the club.
Barça have been linked to the Betis striker this month after applying to the RFEF to permit them to sign a player in an emergency deal this month.
The Spanish champions have just lost Ousmane Dembélé to injury, and if they can prove he will be out for a while, they may be granted permission for an emergency transfer.
Such an agreement limits them to signings from Spain, though, and as such, they are now probing the market for forwards who they can get from Spain’s top two divisions.
Loren is a player who falls into that category, the Real Betis striker rising to prominence this season after scoring ten goals in 24 games in all competitions so far.
He is also a player who has a relationship with Barcelona boss Quique Setién, the current Barça boss being the man who handed Loren his debut in La Liga two years ago and for whom the striker scored 15 goals in 60 appearances.
Loren has now commented on the rumours, confirming them to be accurate and revealing how flattering it all is.
“The interest has really gotten to me. It’s a great joy,” he told Cuatro.
“I know they can sign players because of Dembélé’s injury, but otherwise that’s up to my agent.
“They’re the best team in the world, they’ve got the best team in the world, and the future will tell you anything.”
