Striker Marko Arnautovic has credit David Moyes with turning him into a centre-forward, with the Scot the first to try it at West Ham.
The striker has been speaking to DAZN, via FC Inter 1908, about his career so far and the various parts of it.
One of the major bits was his time at West Ham, who he joined in a €22.3m deal from Stoke in July 2017 after four years with the Potters.
He went on to establish himself as a first fan favourite with the Hammers, bagging 22 goals and 12 assists in 65 games for the club before joining Shanghai Port.
It was during his time at the club that the biggest change of his career took place as Moyes decided to turn him from a left winger, the position he had spent most of his career playing in, into a centre forward.
That proved to be a smart decision as 21 of his 22 goals for the club, as well as ten of his 12 assists, came with him playing in that position.
He’s stuck to that change ever since and credits Moyes with noticing that he had the ability in him, something other managers had not.
“I started as a winger until West Ham, there Moyes made me understand that he saw me better as a striker and from there I changed,” he said when asked about his first role.
