It’s no secret that Raul Jimenez is the biggest star in Mexican football these days, and therefore a player who youngsters look up to.
Chivas Guadalajara striker José Macías has been interviewed by Claro this week, and when speaking of players he’d like to play alongside, he’s named the Wolverhampton Wanderers star.
Jimenez is one of the players who could be part of Mexico’s Olympic Team, despite being over 23. And Macías says he’d be a perfect partner for him in their attack.
“I love being with huge players, very good players like Raúl, so I’m delighted that he comes and teaches me many things and obviously, it would be an honour to play alongside him,” he said (via MSN).
“Of course, more than a challenge, it’s a motivation to see that a compatriot is doing things so well in another country, in Europe, on the highest circuit in England. So obviously I do have these wishes, those goals to be there and I know that soon I will be.”
Playing for Chivas this season, Macias has 13 goals and two assists in 29 matches. That’s not bad for a 20-year-old who’s been officially promoted to their first team this year.
That’s a sign that he shouldn’t last in Mexico for a lot longer, so perhaps Wolves could make his dream come true and play him along with Jimenez.
