Despite a flurry of activity on Monday and some early on Tuesday, Morgan Sanson’s move to Aston Villa has gone a bit more quiet over the past 24 hours.
That’s nothing to worry about, however, as La Provence bring their latest update on the matter on Wednesday lunchtime.
The local newspaper is probably one of the more trusted sources when it comes to Marseille, and they make it clear the deal ‘isn’t sorted out yet and is skidding a bit’.
‘Talks are still underway between the two clubs’, but the outlet state ‘there is still no agreement on the amount’, and while a figure of €18m has been doing the rounds, their sources tell them the offer from Villa Park ‘doesn’t correspond to that amount’.
Therefore, discussions ‘continue’, while ‘other British teams like West Ham have manifested their interest without making a concrete offer’.
It seems entirely up to Aston Villa now, as Marseille are happy to let Sanson leave for the right price and the player seems keen to join up with Dean Smith in the Midlands.
