Former West Ham United director Gianluca Nani believes Juventus will be the team that progresses to the next round of the Champions League when they face Tottenham Hotspur.
Nani has experience in England when he was the technical director of West Ham and Watford. The Italian was responsible for bringing Gianfranco Zola to West Ham and then Watford.
Speaking to TMW, Nani was asked which team would make it to the quarter finals of the competition: “Juventus are the favourites against Tottenham. Two great games, I’m sure. Tottenham have a great striker in Harry Kane and a great coach like Mauricio Pochettino, but between the two teams in my opinion Spurs have to worry more.”
Tottenham will feel unfortunate drawing Juventus in the next round, given Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United received so called easier ties, after they also topped their groups.
The London club will have their work cut out getting into the next round when they face last season’s runners up, and face a difficult trip to Turin in the first leg.
However, as they showed against Real Madrid they can compete with the major clubs in Europe, and they’ll still be confident they can progress to the quarter finals.
