Tottenham’s next arrival has pulled out of upcoming international matches due to injury.
Moving from Djurgårdens IF to Spurs this summer, Lucas Bergvall has big expectations attached to him and will certainly be someone Spurs fans are looking forward to watch in preseason.
That’s the next time he’ll be on the pitch, with the Swedish football association announcing on Monday that he’s pulled out of upcoming games due to injury.
Bergvall had been called up for Sweden’s U21 side, and was set to face England on June 7th and Croatia on the 11th. The match against England would have been a great opportunity for Tottenham fans to take a closer look at the 18-year-old, but that chance is being missed.
For Tottenham as a club, it’s probably considered beneficial that the youngster will now go on holiday ahead of preseason with Spurs.
He’s had a packed calendar and there’s no reason to fill it up some more, especially if the injury concerns are genuine.
The Swedish football association give no indication of the nature of the injury.
