Of all the people to annoy in world football, Bruno de Carvalho probably isn’t the best.
He’s not always right, and that often isn’t even a big part of his tirades, but he certainly won’t let go of something, as is the case with William Carvalho to West Ham.
The transfer postmortem has got very public and very ugly, and West Ham should have known that poking Sporting with a stick, and certainly threatening the club, would lead to a Bruno explosion.
West Ham are annoyed because they believedSporting have wrongly denied receiving an offer for Carvalho. That could be a misunderstanding, with it being about type of offer and how one was presented, and it would have probably been better to sort out privately.
But no, West Ham went public and that was always going to result in a public response from Bruno de Carvalho. On Sporting TV (via Record), Bruno challenged West Ham fans to seek the truth from their club.
“Where is it? Proof? Now, approaches, for sure. I’ve had them for almost the whole squad: West Ham supporters call Mr. David Sullivan and his brother, the Dildo Brothers…
“These messengers, these offended virgins, the president of West Ham… We must tell the truth!”
William Carvalho’s father was awaiting two proposals on deadline day, according to the Sporting president, but none came. There’s every chance an offer was submitted by West Ham, at some point, via an agent, which could see both clubs come out of it ‘correct’.
One thing is for sure. Wrong or right, Bruno de Carvalho will happily publicly battle West Ham and privately go through a court system if the Premier League club insist, rather than being seen to take a loss for Sporting.
