Over the past few days, the UK press has linked Fulham with a move for Panathinaikos defender Georgios Vagiannidis.
The 23-year-old right-back has been a regular for the Greek club this season, playing 31 times in all competitions.
Yesterday, he gave a good account of himself for Panathinaikos in their 3-2 win over Fiorentina in the Conference League.
It now seems as if Fulham are not the only club keeping an eye on the defender.
A Bola have reported that Portuguese giants Sporting are interested in the Greece international, who has now played three times for the national team.
Sporting are ahead in the chase, having already made contact with Panathinaikos to beat the competition. Ajax are also mentioned as an interested party, with Vagiannidis’ current deal at the Greek giants running out in the summer of 2028.
He last signed a renewal with them in December, now having played 96 games in all competitions for the Athens Olympic Stadium-based side.
Whilst A Bola have direct information on Sporting’s pursuit, they don’t make an effort to confirm Fulham interest.
