Maurizio Sarri, do you speak English?

This is the question Gazzetta dello Sport ask on Thursday in their paper edition, claiming Chelsea have upped their interest in the Napoli manager to replace Antonio Conte.

Roman Abramovich is said to have singled out the Italian to start the new cycle for next season; one that will include an improvement in style, bringing along improved results.

Maurizio Sarri’s agent, Alessandro Pellegrini, has allegedly already met with a few Chelsea ‘emissaries’ to clarify what it would take to get his client to Stamford Bridge.

As has already been well reported, that involves paying an €8m release clause, and the Napoli manager is expected to meet up with Aurelio De Laurentiis to let him know of the Blues’ contact.

Not only that, but Sarri is said to have asked those around him to start to learn English; a language he already knows well from his previous job in banking.

As to why the Napoli manager is considering all of this, Gazzetta explain a difference in views when it comes to the future of the club is behind it.

Sarri would like to see investment made in specific target that could help the club improve both in Italy and in Europe, while De Laurentiis wants to continue buying young players to sell them on for a profit later.
