As Everton continue with their search for a new manager to replace Frank Lampard, the Spanish media have got involved.
According to Marca, the Toffees are targeting Real Madrid coach Davide Ancelotti.
Carlos’ son had already worked with his father at Everton, and moved with him to the Santiago Bernabeu to continue being his assistant there.
And the most exciting claim in Marca’s story is that the Toffees’ offer ‘sounds good’ for Davide, who’s ‘thinking about it’.
It’s not yet certain that the coach will accept the job. However, the idea of starting his career as a manager in the Premier League and in charge of a club with the ‘history’ of Everton ‘appeals to him’.
It’s pointed out that at Real Madrid, Davide Ancelotti’s figure has ‘grown a lot’ in their daily work, and there’s the idea that he’ll be a ‘first-rate coach’.
The La Liga giants are said to be aware of the situation, although they believe the coach is staying there at least until the end of the season.
Marca still names the other targets Everton have for the job, highlighting that the club ‘started contacts’ with Marcelo Bielsa and Marcelino has already been ‘sounded out’.
It’s worth noting the article is from Jose Felix Diaz, who is a well known and experienced journalist in Spain.
