When a transfer window closes, post-mortems over failed moves begin to appear.
There’s finger pointing over collapsed transfers, and revelations (or claims) about clubs who just missed out on potential signings.
And the latter is the case with Jese Rodriguez and Leeds United, report El Desmarque.
Jese, who started his career so well at Real Madrid before launching himself on a slippery slope, moved from PSG to Real Betis on loan until the end of the season.
However, it wasn’t without a fight. El Desmarque make it very clear this claim is according to their own sources, showing they have some faith in it, and state Leeds United fought ‘until the end’ to get the player for Marcelo Bielsa.
The player came close to a loan move to Elland Road, but there were ‘doubts’ about the short period of the stay in England, and that allowed Betis to squeeze in and ultimately win the battle.
Since Real Madrid, Jese is best known for being an almighty flop at PSG, his reggaeton career attempts, arguing over social media with his ex, and being a disaster of a loan signing at Stoke City.
He’s clearly talented and it would have been interesting for Leeds. Now it’s down to the 25 year old to rebuild his career at Betis.
