We’re not sure if Sport are on a continuous Premier League wind-up, or are just bored, but after yesterday’s “Roman Abramovich isn’t happy with Antonio Conte” story, they’ve now focused on Arsenal.

The Catalan newspaper dedicate nearly an entire page to the possibility of Alexis Sanchez exiting the Emirates this summer, and they claim he’s just waiting for them to sign a new striker before forcing a move back to Italy.

Blossoming at Udinese before transferring to Barcelona, the Chilean superstar is apparently keen on a move to Juventus, who have apparently made their interest vocal over the summer.

Sport claim that about a month ago, the player’s agent, Fernando Felicevich, presented Arsenal an offer from the Serie A champions nearing €50m for his client, which the London club firmly rejected as they don’t want one of their best players to leave.

Time passed, and the Barcelona-friendly media outlet now report Juventus have once again made contact and are even showing a willingness to up their offer a bit for an eventual transfer in hope that might convince the Arsenal board to hold some talks.SanchezJuve

From the player’s point of view, Sport state Alexis has shown interest towards the move, and, with reports club and winger cannot agree on a new deal, a return to Italy wouldn’t be a bad idea.

The only way this would happen, apparently, is if Arsenal signed a new striker, but with Lacazette and Morata unavailable, he’s got a long wait ahead of him.

Considering Alexis Sanchez spent a chunk of his career at Barcelona, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched if Sport had a few contacts in the Chilean’s entourage, meaning there could be some truth in this story.

Frankly, though, we don’t buy it.

Yes, Arsenal aren’t in the best shape at the moment, and the loss to Liverpool in the first game week wasn’t ideal, but the season is long, and there’s still time for Wenger to open his wallet in the transfer market.

Another barren season, though, and things might be very different as Sanchez enters the last year of his contract.
