Arsenal right-back Héctor Bellerín is really the man of the moment for the Catalan press. The player has already been linked to Barcelona today by Sport, and now Mundo Deportivo are claiming that both Luis Enrique and Pep Guardiola want him for their sides.
The outlet says that Guardiola wants a right-back who has good technique, ball control and offensive attributes. As players from the Barcelona youth levels, both Bellerin and the Benfica star Alex Grimaldo would fit these demands.
The manager would’ve requested Bellerin’s signing to Txiki Begiristain. Mundo Desportivo’s sources have told them that Bellerin hasn’t only talked to the official, but also to Guardiola, giving both of them a positive answer.
In Barcelona’s case, a right-back isn’t so wanted right now, as Sergi Roberto has been doing a good job in the position. But after taking claims from The Times’ which said Bellerin would prefer Manchester City to be the next destination of his career, Mundo Deportivo says the opposite.
They write that the player would be gaining time while talking to the Sky Blues as he waits for Barcelona’s interest to reawaken.
Arsene Wenger would obviously have no intention to sell the player, but the Catalan outlet asks how long will the manager last at Arsenal, as his contract expires at the end of the season and he’s being linked to the England job.
With a Catalan manager commanding one of the richest clubs in England, Mundo Deportivo has a hand full of stories to speculate. This interest could be real, but for Bellerin to go somewhere, they should have an argument better than hoping for Wenger to leave Arsenal at the end of the season.
